Where Dogs and Humans Grow Together
The Story Behind Camp Timber Tail
Odin changed everything.
He arrived as a confident, steady working-breed pup. Bold, independent, and full of promise. But adolescence hit hard. Big feelings, big reactions, and a world that suddenly felt overwhelming for him, and for me.
The advice we received focused on control and compliance. More obedience. More avoidance. Less of him. And somewhere along the way, we stopped enjoying each other. We weren’t speaking the same language anymore.
So I went looking for better answers. Not surface fixes, but something that addressed how he felt, not just how he behaved. When we found the right support in Honest Hounds, everything shifted. We rebuilt trust. We rebuilt communication. We rebuilt fun. And in that space, our partnership grew stronger than ever.
Then came Sylvi, joyful and wild in her own way. She taught me that every dog is different, and that real understanding adapts. With her, I refined what I had learned. With both of them, I found my purpose.
I left the career that no longer fulfilled me and committed fully to helping other owners rediscover their dogs the way I rediscovered mine.
Dexter soon joined the pack, after 4 previous homes he found his forever home with us and the adventure continued.
When I found this ancient woodland, I knew it was the place to bring that philosophy to life.
Camp Timber Tail exists because fulfilled dogs are happy dogs. Because partnership is everything. And because growth happens fastest when we’re having fun together.
Training starts with partnership. Partnership starts with fun.
